Hi....

Dont know if you guys know the epping turn-off on Jan Smuts that takes yo past the market. I take the turn off and in automatic mode, as i come down the bridge with the Market on my right and the car start vibrating as i try to poic up speed. Like in 1st and second gear in "misses". then all the way down to Vanguard drive it misses, i stop and pull away and seems to miss but when im at 60 km/h it stops.

I get home, put the car in drive and reverse and still does the missing thing. I thien switch off. Check oil and water. All good, no leaks. Car didnt over heat. Then 5 minutes later start the car and in "drive" and "reverse" no missing. Pull the car out stop, pull away, stop, pull away...all good. I then gun it down a straight and back, all good.

No missing. Checked oil and water again...nothing. Im confused. Could it be that the car couldnt gear up/down quickly enough causeing this?

I had the same issue with my 540i once... it lasted one summer, and then suddenly dissapeared.. I think it was dirt in the fuel...
chuck in some injector cleaner into your tank and see if it goes away... otherwise just get the codes read and see what it did. thats the only real way to see whats up

you need to get an diagnostics test, some of your sensors are magnetic and pick up metal filings and sometimes just needs a clean, it can also be a earth wire that makes a dry conection and it sounds to me like your car goes in to limp mode.. that happens when Voltage values goes under or over a certain value then it goes in Limp or protection mode and the car has a rough idle and misses when revved up! swich on and of and you are good to go again!
We had the same prblem on a bmw and it ended up to be noise on the one sensor wire which caused it to go in to limp mode! get it on a decent diagnostics machine!

Thanks guys...

Mechanic also suspects ignition coils....will have it put on the diagnostics and take it from there...

@e46 guy....thanks, the diagnostics was done and its ignition coil number 2

Can we know if what the mechanic did after the diagnostic that the ignition coil is the problem? Did they replace it or just do some mechanical stuff? I think my ignition coil is also experiencing this.
