Stop Quoting Posts with Images

Can we have a rule that one should not quote a post with more than 3 images in it?

It is BEYOND annoying. Especially if the images are large, and take time to resize to fit the forum page.

When one says quote a post with no more then 3 images , does it mean if one starts a thread they can only post up max 3 images or if someone reply to one they can only post up 3 images , I kind of like to see images ( But not the repeat images), I tend to gather more info and get a better idea of what the people are talking about through them . But I agree with to many large images , maybe they should resize it for faster loading.

This references to someone quoting images already posted on the thread (thus reposting the images).

yeah , I agree then , If its already on the original thread/ Original posters post then it should not be repeated , I don't know how that can be policed though . Sometimes when you click reply , it automatically adds the pictures on so its not the posters fault at times more the way the system is.

But , If you impose a rule that stops people form posting pictures up on an original post with new pics , it will kill the forum to be honest . I have never seen such on other forums . If someone posting pics up of a neat original E30, I wanna see everything , including the stitching on the seats!

Posting pictures is not what I mean. I mean if I reply to to what someone said, and quote them, then I must make sure NOT to include the picture in ther post too. Its easy, you just DELETE them from the quote.

Notice how I deleted some text from the quote of your post? Same can be done to remove images.

Perfect example:

Page 5 of the "Mercedes Benz - why you failing so hard?" Thread. Link

Divio posts images of the E63.

Then Rayzor replies and quotes the images.

Then Chris Brand does the SAME thing!

So one one page we have 4 pictures repeated 2 times each!

Not only is it annoying as fuck, but it adds up to the data traffic for the forum which could eventually cost the site owners.

Yup , agreed , it is annoying , though I don't think its intentional , I see some forums don't include the pictures from other posts in a reply , but just the text . I wonder how or if it could be implemented here .

Don't stress guys. It is the same image with the same URL. Your browser should be clever enough to only download it once. I do agree that is annoying.

What does annoy me a bit are the humongous images from cellphone cameras in some posts. Nice of members to share pics, but please resize them before uploading.

Agreed.
Same goes for some people who are first to reply to a thread and still quote the opening post. :hammerhead:

Images can be resized with MS Paint.

I replied with images as my reply related to the e63 amg and not the Bakkie everyone was talking about.

Sure, but remove pics and just type "e63 pics" or something.
