 I don't have insurance, what is the price for a new set of locks and to re program the keys

Best would be to contact a dealer near you or maybe locksmith.

FYI a new key for an e46 is R 2500,00 last I checked :hammerhead:

It doesn't help to get a new key made to the same spec as the one that was stolen, as the guy who stole your keys can use that same key to open up and drive off in your car...

If your not insured, the other option you have without changing all the locks, is to take the car to a dealer, and have them deactivate the other key and program a new key to your car, noting that the guy who has your car will still be able to open your door/boot/cubby

I have no idea cause I asked him and he told me that the key will always work and be able to start the car unless I do a lock replacement. It could be that maybe his not that clued up when it comes to bm's

So I paid a locksmith R2200 to cut and program a new key for me, but now he told me that whoever has my stolen key will be able to do everything that the new key can do. So basically I still have a problem
You don't have insurance, and someone out there has what is now a spare key. Sorry bud, that sucks big time.

As John mentioned, you need a key to block it, you now have one. Perhaps you should get this done, and order a "new" key. It may have cost you an extra R2200 but at least its safer than losing the car.
