stock Suspension price

Hi guys

My suspension is not good, but I don´t know exactly what will exactly needs to be replaced (shocks, springs, arms,etc.). I am from maputo but I´ll have the job done in sa, so I need to know how much each of the components cost so I can have that money before travelling. If the shocks price is not materilly different from FSD, then I´ll go for FSD (8,5k with Moranor).

I think you can replace the shocks with Monroe or Gabriel for about 3k but i would say these shocks are worse then than what was put on in the factory but still way better than blown shocks

BMW will probably want about 20k for all 4 shocks :yuck:

I also have Koni STR.T:
R 2900 front a Pair
R 1640 Rear a Pair

these are an awesome upgrade for stock shocks on a lower budget...

I think I´ll go for the STR, I am planning to go to jhb on the 30th, I´ll let you know. What about the other components? I need to know, in case they also need to be replaced.

Can you tell me where can I have the suspension checked(to know what else needs a replacement)?? I also need a full diagnostic.Since I bought it (about 5 months) I´ve never done one. The only thing I did was new oil, new oil, air and gas filter, new brake pads. So I need to know if there is anything else that needs to be changed.

dealers always pricey...dad did his merc front bushes, control arms, shocks..like 13k from merc dealers..:fencelook:...so with the back prob would come to around 20k..I don't think BM will be far off that mark..take it to Moranor rather :thumbs:

fully rebushing you suspension is going to be an expansive job thats why most just do the minimum to get by...

common weak points are front lower control arms, lower control arm bushes, Rear Trailing arm bushes and Rear shock mounts...

I have Powerflex lower control arm bushes and Rear Trailing arm bushes:

lower control arm bushes R790 a Pair
Rear Trailing arm bushes R715 a Pair

Im not 100% on the cost of the other parts, but i think the arms go for 1.5-2.5k depending on brand...

That is good, I think I can afford that. do you think I will need to change the springs? And how long can this job take? I am planning to be there on the 30th (thursday) to come back on monday.
