Hi All this is a small step by step on how to remove the cup holders from your e90. I had to do it due to a spillage that was causing the trays to stick on the way out.

Step 1: use a knife or small sharp plastic thing to avoid damaging the cover. I started on the left as there was more space between the cover and the dash. Put the knife between the two and prise it open

Step 2: Once you have got the trim off far enough to get a grip on it. move your fingers along lifting the trim as you go when you get to the middle be very careful as the two centring pins are quite tight and requite even pressure on both pins at the same time to avoid breaking the pins from the plastic.

Once you have the trim off you will see two torque screws either side of the tray simply unscrew them

Once the screws are loose you can pull the trays out from the cavities holding the front of the tray.

I hope this helps someone along the way

What's going to be your next DIY project? Gearbox removal or engine removal maybe? :)

Sorry I had to :)

I'm just wondering maybe this thread would be better in the DIY section.

Yeah, I was just joking around with the guy :)

This is how DIY'ing starts, with the small things, then you can move up from there. In my opinion a big part of DIY'ing is confidence, and you only get confidence by starting with the little things and moving up, and sometimes just taking the plunge and taking on a big project. If I go back a couple of months I would never have even have dreamed of working on my own car, yet I replaced the starter on my car a week ago.

The other big part is the this forum and the awesome people who are always willing to help

Edit: Oh, and ESS oohh, pretty pretty
