steering wheel buttons not working

I had to fit a new ignition system this weekend but after assembling I notice nothing is working on my steering wheel.

no horn, no cruise control, nada. I know i did plug in all the connectors again afterwords bur what can I miss? besides a fuse that bight have gone.

Did you disconnect the battery before working on the car?

yes i did disconnect the battery

re: the spiraling thingy, it can go in only one way right?

looked at it over the weekend and yes, 1 plug was missing,

plugged it in, nothing. :cursin:

opened the steering wheel again only to see the one side of the slipring is broken, can't fix it. fark.

Off to bemos buy a e39 528's Fit is saterday, no the horn works but the others are still not working.

Is there a diff between the 528 and 540 slipring?
