Steering angle Sensor

Hi all, Ive been told that the reason behind the DSC not functioning in my car is that the Steering Angle Sensor is kaput. This is not a cheap repair nor is it a straight swop out as apparently the sensor needs to be set up and calibrated with the ABS and DSC.

Any thoughts?

I did not realize that the E46 had a steering wheel angle sensor.

Maybe buy a jar of vaseline?

Have you cleaned all the wheel speed sensors and do a proper 4 wheel alignment yet?

No errors showed up on the wheel speed sensors. Those were said to be fine.

Though it could be the wheel alignment cos new lower control arm bushes were fitted (Though im not sure if changing these affect the wheel alignment in any way).

Have you alignment sorted out if you changed bushes - this should sort out the steering angle sensor issue. Keep us posted on the progress ....

@P1000: The e46 models that came with DSC have steering wheel position sensors, the ones with just the ASC didn't have it.
