Steering angle sensor (SZL)

Hey guys

Put some new rubber on my car last week, and after all tracking and towing was set, when I drove away I noticed that the DSC, ABS and Flat tyre light are on.

After some investigation it seems it relates to the Steering angle sensor, steering wheel is way off centre.

Who can reset these lights? or how do you reset them?, steering has been corrected.

and also do any of you know where to buy the reinforcement strut plates for the E46. seems like the stealership has no clue what I am looking for, This is to prevent the mushrooming of the strut tower.

The front right tower started with a mushroom effect :argh:

Firstly, its not an SAS, the steering angle sensor is known as a SZL.

And its just doing its job.

If your steering wheel sits way off center, the SZL will pick this up, and give you the messages.

So what you would need to do is go see Ralf from Speedway (forum sponsor) and let him check why, at the very least do a wheel alignment.

If memory serves, the SZL will pick up that the issue has been corrected, and it will turn off the light.

Hi

Do you perhaps have any contact details for Ralf from speedway?

if the wheel alignment has been done, the straight ahead position can be reset using inpa.

Wheel alignment has been done, wheels are now straight and also the S\Wheel. but these lights just need to be reset
