Spotted - E46 M3

Though this isn't the actual picture, I saw a really sexy E46 headed West on the N12 through Alberton on Thursday evening. The guy has built it to look just like this one, kit, fenders, exhaust, bumpers etc. Real pity BMW didn't find it necessary to make the E46 M3 in 4 door guise. Anyone know who the car I saw might belong to?

Non-trivial, the panels don't match at all - it's a great job the above one.

Yeah. I started reading up on one this morning. I can only imagine the kind of time, effort and money it would take. The particular pic I uploaded, the guy bought both a perfectly running, good nick 318i and m3.

Yeah, the above one is a scandi car, I think the base was a green E46M3 SMG - sad to see a green M3 cut up.

I would only swap my car for an equivalent E46 if it was that green - looks KILLER.

Yeah. It's a killer colour. My old man had an e46 320i in that colour back then. If only je kept it for :dunnoanymore: lol.

Have you seen any of those green E46M3s in SA? I really don't think I have, that's the other thing that seemed a shame to me.

That Green Though.:blowheart::blowheart: Absolutely stunning colour, my first BMW that I drove was that Fern Metallic Green.

But the end product four door came out stunning. Great dedication and workmanship. :bravo:

That specific M3 was a magnificent build. The guy did it proper. Only because he wanted to have it licensed for cheaper on a 4 cyl 318 body vs M3 body. Aparently 6cyl cars the licensing fees are mad over where the guy live.

That it is. I can't imagine having the grit to finish a 1 year plus build. But maybe one day

I wonder what the bottom line looked like though. Purchase of an additional car plus some parts and additional man hours. Would not have been much cheaper. But then again, he can say he's got a 4 door e46 M3. Now thats something to brag about :cartel:
