Can anyone post a pic of the bottom of their spoiler? The part where you place the glue/tape. Preferably a performance spoiler, rep or oem.

I would use the 3M Red double sided tape... trust me, that shit sticks and NEVER LETS go, but it can be cut with a thin razor wire if you ever need to remove the spoiler.
Glue sticks, but mission to get off.... famous last words, I will never need to take it off.... thats what I also said...

The dealer? I don't remember it being crazy expensive

The tape you looking for is called 3M VBH, call the 3M call center and they will point you to your local dealer, it most likely will be a packaging and stationary type store.

Really thin double sided tape. Sorry but had absolutely no marking on it, so I dont know who makes it.

When the 3m and No More Nails industrial tape (red 1) failed on my boot spoiler. I used Betalink, its relatively inexpensive and easy to use, however can be a bit messy so get a extra hand to help out and once stuck it ain't coming out. So if you plan to remove the spoiler later on, be prepared to have your boot resprayed as well.

I recently put the thin-lip boot-spoiler on my 540i, using the dealer supplied tape, as I really didn't want to second-guess the way it would be done originally. Do not like the idea of using glue for this at all. But this is my preference. The tape is really thin, and unlike other double-sided tape I have seen before. If I was to give my advice on this, I would say just get the tape from the dealer. For an E39 it cost me R130.

The Betalink glue is from the dealers as well...

Here's the tape I got, it's quite thin & apparently holds up to 50kg...
Haven't used it yet though.

My spoiler came with 3M tape. Stuck it on and tried to pull it off after a day to check if it holds. And it sits like ..... I think you will only get it off with a thin blade or by braking the spoiler if they try to steel it.
