Hi Everyone!
I've got the new 320i(F30) manual(8300Km). Very nice ride but the fuel consumption...... currently 14.1l/100km, it is killing my budget! Anybody got the same problem?
I travel short distances all urban(about 15km per day).
I tried eco mode, comfort & sport. I tried driving like an old man, I even drove like a youngster that stole his dads car and all the same.

I had it at BMW twice all ready and they don't know. They reset my variables and no joy! I wish I took the new VW there at least I get 10l/100km:argh:
If someone can help....PLEASE!!

New cars usually need to settle in before the consumption normalises...
8300km seems more than enough though. :thumbdo:
Goodluck:sorry:

Wow. My e46 M3 isn't even that bad. I'm sitting on 12.7l per 100km. Something definitely not right there man. 4 pot turbo car should not be using 14l per 100km. Not unless you are raping the car day in and out...

I only see that number when I drive like a complete hooligan for a full day.

Try filling it with different brand of fuel... and 95 octane... :dunno:

I know my 325i E46 is CRAP on BP, up to 15-16l/100km, and even starts to pre-ignite.

on Sasol I get 12-14l/100 depending on how I drive.

Been trying Total 95 lately, and driving as usual, only town driving, and standing on 11,4l/100 now.

PS: I know mine isn't a turbo car, but it might just solve his problem.

I would suggest the following. Ask the dealer if they have a demo car with the same engine.

Reset the OBC and take both cars for a test drive on the same route driving in a similar manner (where you can). If the difference is huge, insist that they sort it out and give you a loaner, else you post your consumption figures on BMW's Facebook site.

BMW dealers are getting flippen useless. Unless you point out a problem or threaten them, the incompetence levels seem to be getting worse.

my old heavy "Tank" E32-730i was doing around 14l/100km, my E36 325i with a slightly "sporty" right foot used to do 12l/100km

this being "brand-new" technology, I would expect figures to be single digit..

At 15km per day, urban use only, you are bound to get a very high consumption, seeing that most probably you'll be using it on a cold engine only, when fuel consumption is at it's highest.

I'm driving a 320i F30 with 5000km on the clock. Got it since 3000km. Even with a lead foot I haven't exceeded 9.9km/L

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for the advice.
I'm sure it is l/100km. I'll post a pic later. I've been to two different dealerships.
Does somebody know the contact details of the right person/department at BMW SA? Maybe I will get beter help?

I've tried Engen 95-the same, Shell 95-a bit beter (13,5l/100km)
Total -the same,Caltex the same. Sasol i have to drive about 15km to fill up???

I actually put R100 in last night - RANGE 50km:bangdesk:

Yoh... Thats R2 a km... Thats very high. I get R1.50 a km in my M3. That's not right bro.

with R400 (half tank/30litres) I can do around 225km. Semi Highway, mostly urban with some spirited runs here and there, but mostly calm driving.
