The Monkey did not make it. Went underneath the car, to the back. I hate hitting even small birds, but also I hate damaging my car!

Hope the damage of your car is not too much, actually hoping that the damage is minimum.

Know how I love mine

Received the quotation today. Just cannot believe that the cost of the front bumper alone is just more than 10k.

Is the insurance covering this, or is it out of your pocket? :hammerhead:

Total cost is just more than 26k, believe it or not. The engine pan is almost 3k. I do have insurance but I'm not sure if they will pay that on a 12 year old vehicle. I am going to put up a moerse fight, that for sure, Not suppose to be worse off after something like this. How do you guys feel about this!

I'm fixing my Z4 myself, just having the panels professionally sprayed.. collecting my new / second hand bumper front MD house tomorrow. 40K quote from BMW will be done for less than 10K when I'm done.

That's not to bad, I was quoted 25000 just for slight damage on my rear bumper. I think you should get your Insurance to repair it, on a z4 I'm sure they will pay out.

Believe it or not, they want to repair the bumper as most of the lugs keeping the grill in place are broken off! They also want to respray only the lower section of the bumper. I pay a premium price for insurance but this is what I get!

Are you serious :RedNo:

Why are they not replacing it if most of your clips is off on the bumper. It is going to rattle and irritate the living crap out of you

They are unfair, they should replace the bumper due to the amount of damage it has. Understand if it was a small scratch and only slightly cosmetic but there are clips off, actually most of them.

They should replace the bumper:RedNo:

:sorry:

Hey there Barkie, sorry for your mishap.

For all you guys that might need to know this...get the trade and retail prices of your car.
Add those two numbers up and divide by two.
70 to 75% of that amount can be spent on the car (irrespective of age) to repair it. Phone around for your own pricing, make sure that the repairer isnt double charging the insurance for the items (hurts ur excess).
INSIST on new OEM parts, demand that you see all invoices. Repairers cannot quote on new parts and use 2nd hand/ repaired parts. You can ask/ tell the repairer to keep all your old parts and ask to see them when your car is complete. They cannot bullshit you and say that the insurance already collected them or whatever bullshit story. The insurance will only pay the repairer if the client is satisfied so if theres queries, there needs to be proof (ie: the old parts need to be available for inspection) You cannot keep your old parts though, they belong then to the insurance company, unless they do not want the parts, then you have full right to claim them from the repairer and sell them off to try make some of your excess back. Some guys will buy the stuff and repair it themselves for their project car bla bla... Or just so that the repairer doesnt keep them and make more money from the next guy who he bullshits...
Do not let urself be bullied into believing ANYTHING that the repairer tells you unless its black on white...
Hope this helps...
