I would stick with the 5W30, as its a best of both worlds viscosity for the MINI.

I would recommend you consider an oil like Ravenol VMP 5W30, its a Fully Synthetic Oil which is BMW/MINI approved for 30 000km drain intervals.

It offers the highest ACEA/API Performance Ratings in its class, but most importantly it is a Group 4/5 PAO/Ester based lubricant meaning it has one of the finest and most shear stable bases on the market, oils like Mobil 1 use this base.

Pricing on this oil more or less are around R400.00 for 5 litres, but will need to confirm on Tuesday.

Alternatively, you can chat to Moranor (Sean) with regards to Liqui Moly you can also go for Synthoil 5W40 which is a spectacularly good oil.

I am sure Moranor will provide you with pricing.

Just do not go for anything with less viscosity at operating temp... The ST boys went through a phase where 0W20 was king and they boosted the hell out of those cars and all blew heads. :nonono:
