So I'll be walking everywhere this week...

I was just at the garage filling up with some of that expensive juice and started talking to another e36 fan with a silver 318i, I told him about the forum and that he should join and check it out. Then we parted and as I drove out of the garage - on my way to the N1 - I feel and hear something is definitely not right on my right front wheel, so I pulled over and took a look under the car, seems that my control arm bush popped out of its housing... The relatively new poly urethane bushes that I got fitted.

So now here I am at my flat without my car :cry:Going to try and sort it out on Thursday.

Who is to blame here I want to know? I didn't drive though anything or anything like that, it just occurred as I was driving... glad I wasn't on the N1 at 120km/h when it happened.

Yoh....that sounds bad! that could have ended very badly had you been doing high speed cornering on the highway!

I wander if those poly urethane bushes are maybe to hard and thus don't have enough give, forcing the control arm to push straight out???

Yeah man it got me pretty mad and worried, maybe the bush was just not seated properly when it got pressed in its housing? I have no idea

That should definitely not be able to happen. Can you possibly take a pic so we can assess.

Hey there bud, sorry to hear.

When you say walking and also mention N1, I travel to Paulshof (get off at Rivonia rd) and then back to Randparkridge in the afternoon. Can help you out with a lift if you need

Those bushes go in really tight hence the fact that it's a press fit.
The fitters should measure both male and female before going ahead with the job. Proper interference-fitting is vital.
