Car looks great.

Question, you say you bought the car after it had a engine rebuild, i am not too knowledgeable on these M3's but is this a common thing, engines needing rebuilds? sort of like the Porsche 996 that if you own one you just know you going to need a new engine.

Yes, bearings are a problem and if you don't get them changed in time you run the risk of running a bearing and you end up with a awesome engine knock where you then need to rebuild the engine.

Car had a bit of work done this week. Did diff oil and transmission oil. Very black but not burnt. Has never been done on the car before.

Also had worn seat bolsters replaced.

Replaced? Or only refurbished?

If replaced completely, who did it? It looks factory

Hi

It was replaced. So they removed stitching and removed the piece concerned.

They then found the same spec of leather and stenciled it. Then stitched the new piece onto the rest of the seat. The leather was removed off the seat for this entire process.

The place is called McCarthys auto trimmers. They have branches in most provinces I think and have a H/O in Cape Town. Started in 1996.

Do marine leather as well and provide interior insurance which I thought was cool.

They did trim on my M6 as well and it came out great hence used them again.

I think the previous owner referred to it as Akra but I’m sure it’s not. Will do a clip in the morning.
