Guys,

I need to book the E90 325i in for some inspection. The car is insanely heavy on juice (7km/l in town, 10km/l open road). This is conservative driving.

Forsdicks had a few looks and "resets" everything with the kind words " There you go Sir, see what she does now".

I know the answer to that already.

So, please tell me, who can I speak to at SMG Canal Walk that will be able to assist.

I like to be ale to walk into a place and know who to talk to. I hate standing around looking all lost and bewildered.

Thanks guys and gals.

I'm pretty sure my consumption isn't normal either in my 120i....

With conservative driving I get worse consumption than you..

I just flog it off to my driving style... But even when I try to get it down I struggle...

So I wonder...

Our insurance broker has the exact same model, and he gets way better mileage on his car.

Come to think of it Don, I also had to stand around looking bewildered a bit before they approached me. The guy who took me in last time were not there on Monday. (NEITHER WERE THE REDHEAD...:bawling:) Either way, Jandre, just grab someone at the reception desk and demand a name!

Not yet SS. It's my dad's car, but if I can get rid of the GTI, and make sure the 325i isn't as heavy on juice as it is currently, I am thinking of taking it over from him next year.

I get 9.8l/100km in town and so round about 9.2l/100km on the straight in an e46 325i. That's not even hammering the car. Can this be normal maybe?

9.8l/100km is 10.2 km per liter in town.

We are currently getting around 7 - 7.5 km per liter in town.

You are doing just fine

:mmm: I get 8.12 km/l from +-370km's combined town & freeway driving, but I have to admit, I was driving like a prick half the time.

Update on my new driving style: I managed to get aroung 6l/100km ave (town and long road) since I serviced the car 2nd November. I've done 2500km thus far and for the first time I am beating the service indicator! It should read 12500km left, but its currently on 12800km left! This NEVER happened before. Either way, I think the breakeven would be about 6.5l/100km.

Careful acceleration and not letting the needle go over 10l/100km with every gearchange. I'm NOT converting my to Oldman style, if I need to plant it, I still do so. But for the better part, easy driving and then not going over 160 on the open road.

Best I ever had was 4.4l/100km, but that was just for about half a tank. Best long distance trip (full tank used) was 5.4l/100km.
I'm no Jew trying to get the best mileage, the ones I mentioned now were the top ones I can recall. Rest of the time I don't get better than 12km/liter (8.5l/100km), and sometime when towing a trailer I get 8km/l (12.5l/100km) or so. Half of my current 2500km travelled at the average of 6l/100km include towing a trailer where I took it easy, say not more than 140 on the open road.

Ten again I got the 110kW, 6 speed box which brings the revs down nicely when cruizing!

I am getting about 6.5 KM / Litre at the moment. get double that on open road. So this is from a e36 316i. pretty heavy.

in the E46 318i 2005 (2 litre auto) the OBC says between 11 and 12 liters/100km in town and best i got was 7.2l/100 going down to durbs.

Hey there Jandre

Have a chat to Dickie Isaacs. He is the service manager there... As you walk into the service reception look to your left and you will see a office... Thats his office.
