That sucks man:sorry: That's why I'm very skeptical about taking my car to bmw for any work that needs to be done because I don't know the competency of the person working on the car:yuck: Also check your service book. There's a summary of everything that needs to be done during oil and inspection services.

Oh, and another thing - if you know that things like brakes and suspension bushes need replacing, get a second opinion maybe from a suspension shop. Because then you can dispute it more easily if you have a report from a shop with brake disc measurements etc. Because they might just say, oh well the brakes were checked and not yet at level of replacement. If you get it quantified, then it makes your argument more solid, and less subjective.

this is what i expected them (SMG) to do, to advise me the customer of whats cooking then call me to decide if i want to replace or not, i obviously would of said no then i use the checklist as a yard stick to get a second opinion on these 'faulty' things and repair as we move along

i genuinely, honestly and sincerely thought this would be the case and this is the only reason i used the stealers and the fact that they can drop and pick up and for the stamp but no no other reasons at all.

:argh:

I know how you feel. My prejudice against dealership servicing is at an all time high these days... but unfortunately people seem to place value on having that 'stamp'.

Took my 330i to Garage 808, seriously good service, they give you a full report to what's wrong and what needs fixing.
