this is my attempt at panel beating this is in no way a how to guide and I take no responsibility for and damage that my occur as a result of this thread :p

1st the damage...
I was waiting at the robot when suddenly I felt what could be described as smack in the back of the head... I soon realized what happened and was very angry... It takes alot for me to loose it but the sight of tatty mahindra farm bukkie in the back of my e46 set me off quite badly...

thinking about it afterwards the driver a young guy who just got his licence was shaking quite badly... not really proud of what happened just setting the picture... hopefully he learnt a lesson and will be more careful in future

Shit bud

This one sucks quite badly.

You wont be able to do a self repair on that rear valance/facia panel, it is too hard and double panel, meaning you cannot beat it from the other side

The only way to repair that is with a korrek or a proper chassis/pulling machine.

You would grind the paint off, wel a chain onto it.

Anchor the car, and then pull in the opposite direction.

You would get it 80% back into shape, and then use filler to do the rest, but you aint gonna fix that with a hammer, unless your going to be beating it 20% and use 80% filler to correct the car.

Bumper can be fixed

Tailgate is toast, as is possibly the rear valance, and perhaps even the boot floor

If your going to do anything, go price a powerjack from Adendorff.

This looks so familiar it is insane... I know exactly how you feel bud.. :sorry: This happened to me 2 months ago and because of the damage I opted to have it professionally repaired at an approved panel beater with only OEM parts, costs a pretty penny :blueCry:.. My car is still at the panel shop, hopefully I get it back next week :hammerhead:

next step start stripping to see what Im dealing with

If it ended up at a panel shop this also gives them less things to break or lose when they work

Bumper damage... please excuse the dirt cant wash the car because the boot does not seal currently and I did not bother cleaning the bumper at this stage... will be cleaned after sanding

unfortunately I got a bit happy with the heat... being the 1st time I have dont this I did not expect it to be perfect some filler will make it perfect I did get the shape almost perfect to minimize the use of filler
