great stuff Nick. dont know how I missed an XC. thought you were talking about an old tiger that looks like the sport bikes.
Our family is expanding so I was putting serious thought into also getting an XC. That was before having to change a tube on an 800 GS..
How is touring on the XC? and technical riding? (but I think technical riding capability is equal to the amount you are willing to spend on repairs)

i have a lot of spam to share, love doing trips :tiptoe:

Its the 1st bike iv ever owned so im still learning.
But its a beast on road, on the dirt im scared of the power.
If you even want ride the XC let me know ;)

The new XCX has an upgraded WP suspension (a little stiffer than mine) and a on/off abs switch and cruise control which mine does not. (2011 model)

Im about 6.2ft and i am cumfy on it.

the 800 tiger blows the 800 GS out of the water.

Hehe, check GS trophy vids on youtube and you will understand why one buys a GS above other brands. I would like to do that some day.

The XC vs GS was an up and down thing, where each newest iteration was better than the other brand. with the new XCX I believe the GS is way behind...but then the new GS is also due next year...

on the test ride...I was chatting with a buddy on the intercom about going for the smaller 800 and he said test his 800Gs. Well, he pulled up next to me and happened to have a flat wheel, thus curing me hehe.

I am guessing you stay in Gauteng, book yourself for some DP training, it really is worth it. you will also not say that you are scared of the power on dirt again. There can never be enough power hehe.
I will be doing a sand focused course next week, really looking forward to it.

I need a more aggressive dirt tyres i think, she just spins now- its really fun tho.

All the bikes i have ridden have all been dirt bikes, even some oval speedway so im not a complete noob.
Having said that, the weight of these bikes is a new thing to me hehe
