I would choose an E46 over a Mini :fencelook:

But you old, not as young as me

If he's old, you're a fossil :roflol:

No seriously, I would also not go for the mini. Unless you're really longing for a toy... In that case go for JCW :fencelook:

I'm only as old as the women I feel.

But seriously, I had one before and loved it. Regret selling it.

I'm currently looking for a R58 JCW Works and will trade the X1 in on it.

Came close to finalising a deal on a 2012 R58 JCW Works last week but it had the older n14 Motor, I will find a newer one with the N18.

I think it's one of those cars that you have to own and live with to really appreciate it.

Its a cult car and great fun to drive and handles like go-cart.
More of an emotional choice to buy one, so if you want it get it.
A friend of mine had one and did various track days etc with no major problems although the clutch can go quicker than planned and interior got some rattles.

Overall great fun (lift off oversteer) unpractical cars, the supercharged one is definately more solid engine wise than the PSA turbo from my experience.

Its a good car , can only judge on the Countryman S as my mom has one. I get out of the mini and into the e46 only to notice that the e46 is a much more chilled car , you can sit back, relax and not be on your toes. The seating position isn't as high up, the brake pedals not too high and I actually use my speedometer now. But these are all small niggles, I strongly think my moms car is faster than my 325i e46. I'm talking about the turbo 2014 spec. It drives bad from my honest opinion. On the highway not too bad but once the road gets even a little bumpy oh hell no. Interior quality is good if not better but its a completely different car. I notice guys drive up to me and get disappointed seeing me driving and not a hot female.

Two completely different cars.

BMW - Comfy, laid back, classy.

Mini - Hard, stiff, funky.

If I may compare with my E90 as I own a R53 and a E90 at present...

E90... feels like im driving while laying down in a Sealy Posturepedic bed. Steering is soft, car is soft, underrated. Puts a smile on anyday of the week and twice on a Saturday.

Mini - its just such a fun car to drive. It handles like its on rails. Dont get me wrong, the e9p handles well for its size. But the mini, ahh man, throw it into a corner, flat out, dsc off and you control that car into a spot. It goes there.. its a love hate relationship though. I love the nippyness. I love the sounds it makes. I hate the hard clutch and steering. Stiff gears. But do I smile each time I drive, yes.

They totally different in nature. Theres no comparison. If I was in your situation, it depends on mang factors. The mini is no all rounder. Dont expect to load and go on holiday. As a second car, run around, they outperform themselves. But not a family car. The boot is terrible. My laptop bag, lunch bag and daughters school bag fills it up.

The back seats are pointless. Im not tall yet with my seat in a comfy position, nobody can sit behind me.

As a second car, go for it. But dont let your e46 go. Unless you single...

Depends what e46 you have , if you have a 330i or 330d I think you should keep it, anything besides them you should trade it for the mini:thumbs:

Shot thanks, appreciate the advice.

Like I said I will have to first test drive one and then take it from there.

I am "single" a.k.a not married, so to me the family practicality stuff is not an factor.

Thanks, straight line speed is not what it is about to me. My 325i makes more power than the 1.6 supercharged mini. Cabin finishes and overall enjoyment of driving(cornering etc.) rate much higher than an quick 0-100 for me.

I had a cooper s too use for a week. Personally I would not buy that car. Felt it very uncomfortable and there is absolutely no space in the back for passengers...dunno why they have rear seats

I am going to assume you are female, as you are interested in such feminine cars! :roflol:

Dude, from all the cars I've owned, the Mini got me the most female attention. Chicks will come and chat to me about the car.

Once we were at Zwartkops for a track day and 2 buddies usd the car to go buy us food. They only got back 3 hrs later cause they met chicks that wanted to ride in the Mini. I never got to track it that day.

:biglol:

Dude its prob cause they think you wanna go "SHOPPING" :tease:
Then go back to there lil tea party and have pedi's and mani's with them ;) hahaha

There is nothing wrong with the e46, I just enjoy driving this cooper thing so much.
