Andrew will the cost of a LSD diff ( R2K or more ) and the 6 speed box ( R4K or more ) and drive shaft ( R?? ) not be excessive for now ?
The brake upgrade will also only work with 17 inch mags - the 330i discs up front will not work with standard rims . This is good if you plan to fit a 328i motor later .
The standard 325i non vanos with a 3.46 diff ( same as your car has now ) is quick but gets 90 in 2nd , 135 in 3rd and 180 in 4th and red lines in 5th at about 230 . You may get a 325i motor for R6K or so . The 328i is geared longer 105 in 2nd and 155 in 3rd -never pushed it to limiter in 4th or 5th !!.The pull from say 50 in 2nd to rev limiter in 3rd is awesome .
Unfortunately I may be giving my 325i away , ( body rusted , valve stem seals stuffed ) would have been a good donor for you with all wiring etc .
