Shock absorbers for an E90

I would like to find out, what the effect would be if I was to fit gabriel shocks (priced at R2500) as opposed to BMW shocks (Priced at R7500) besides the obvious effect on my pocket?

I have been spun all kinds of stories that the ride will be effected and due to run flat tyres I should stear clear of any non factory fitted parts.

Can anyone give me some advise?

Ive just got a quote back on the Koni sports R4839 for a 1 series.

something not right there Koni Sports are way more than that...

Retail:
Front R 5695 a pair
Rear R 3810 a pair

Axis price:
Front R 5130 a pair
Rear R 3425 a pair

maybe you were quoted on Koni STR.T:

Retail:
Front R 3530 a pair
Rear R 2320 a pair

Axis price:
Front R 3180 a pair
Rear R 2090 a pair

even if you were quoted on STR.T its still a bit low im betting they working off the old price list (prices have gone up because of exchange rate) or quoted without Vat :)

all my prices are including Vat and shipping...
