Not sure why, but I only tried half a tank of the shell Nitro and my fuel consumption went from 12l per 100 to almost 16l per 100.

Very strange. Jezebel did not like it. Although she did feel stronger whilst using it.

I've had the opposite with Nitro. Went from 15l/100 down to 13l/100, and feels stronger.

I will have to try another batch and see what happens.

It may be possible that because I had not driven Jezebel in 3 weeks that I may have decided to be a little heavy footed.

Consumption seems to be the same, but I *think* my M3 feels a bit more responsive with it. Could be in my head though...

Try use most of the current fuel in your tank before mixing it with Nitro, if it's a different fuel.

I was completely empty when I refilled with Nitro. But only filled half a tank.

Another +1 for Shell Nitro... did 300kms on half a tank..! granted there was more highway driving than urban driving, but not all of it slow ;-P

Shell V-power Nitro 95

This past Saturday I drove with my 135i manual from Jhb via Piet Retief & Vryheid to Gingindlovu in KZN for a funeral, and back that evening to via Durban & Harrismith to Jhb.

I used 140L of fuel and done 1380km = consumption of approx 10.14L/100 and the vehicle OBC avg was 10.8L/100 when we got back into Jhb.

I filled up from empty (44L) with Shell V-power nitro 95 at Shell Gordon Rd & Ontdekkers, then filled up (38L) with Engen Primax 95 at Reggies 1-Stop in Piet Retief. Before I left Gingindlovu I filled up (34L) with Shell V-power nitro 95 again, then the last fill (37L) at Shell Montrose with Shell V-power nitro.

We departed at 05h30 on Saturday morning and was running briskly to Piet Retief avg 16x kmh on clock. From Piet Retief the road to Vryheid was a little bumpier so were avg 14x km/h. After I filled with Engen, it immediately felt like I had an extra 2 people in the car. From Melmoth due to traffic and windy roads I ran mostly at 12xkm/h. 10km after I filled the car with Shell in Gingindlovu, I definitely felt the car to be more responsive and smoother again. Thinking it was due to the coastal air, I reserved my judgement until after I filled again with Shell at Montrose. From Harrismith when it got dark, and had passed all the fixed camera's, I let her loose running at 18x-2xxkm/h up to the last toll at De Hoek before Heidelburg.

In my opinion after 1380km km in a day and 3.75 tanks of fuel later the car definitely felt smoother and more responsive with Shell than with Engen both at altitude and at the coast.

I really want to compare BP vs Shell on my next road trip. If BMW driving academy is using BP, then it should be worth the try?

I think they use BP because it's sponsored... Not necessarily because it's the best fuel. I used BP when I was on Discovery Insure because you get fuel rewards with BP, but I still find Shell is better.

Add another plus 1 for Shell. if possible I avoid any other fuels. my car (n54 with a few mods) runs smoother on shell for sure! all fuels give me shit consumption no point in comparing... hence I have a diesel for daily driving

Another +1 for shell, brought my consumption down with an average of 2L/100KM and car definitely feels more responsive

Nitro + seems to have done the trick for me too. got about 50km more to a tank then i usually do. On a batch of standard fuel now to see then difference.

I’ll give it a shot on my next tank, normally use Engen due to ebucks… but the damn rewards are so small...

Did the test for another week again, She'll fuel came out tops again. Full tank BP yielded 345km. Full tank Shell Nitro yielded 433km. And the car was driven by my vrou for the whole week. 100km/hr is too much for her so I know the driving style was decent.

Hi guys

this morning I filled up with Shell v power Nitro. the car does feel more responsive and fuel consumption is much better this morning i averaged 7.1l/100km in my E90 320i steptronic driving on my daily commute of 45kms with Speeds between 120-160kms. usually with Engen Primax car averages around 8.3l/100km same conditions

I tried it, didnt feel a difference. Just slightly better consumption. But slight enough that it just could have been a change in driving conditions.
Gonna stick to what I know with the Sasol.
