Price isn't relevant because the price of diesel is not regulated. The owner of the filling station decides what he wants as a markup.
Diesel drivers beware i have found a difference of up to 70c per litre and thats for the same brand!!!:nonono:
I have tried all the brands and i am sticking to Totals 50ppm. My 330dppk just feels more responsive and only with this brand does the car see 4.7l/100. With Shell v nitro i could not get better than 5,1l/100.

Engen dynamic diesel used to be my favourite, but in all honesty I can feel a difference with the new Shell Nitro Diesel, it is now at the top of my list in terms of performance diesel!!

Have been filling up with the "new" Shell Diesel for the past month, no significant increase in power, yet I have been getting about 100km extra per tank compared to Engen and Sasol, have not tested BP or Total yet.

I've seen an article in the CAR mag which compares the various fuels & what additives are in. Will upload the pic soon.

SASOL seems to be top of CAR's list.

My experience with Shell Nitro was good initially gave me 30 - 60km extra. then after my 3rd fill my car started to jerk badly from idling to driving... either the fuel at that garage was tampered with or their quality just dropped... so no more shell for me unless I am really outta juice and they the closest!

Caltex works best for me, will try sasol and bp something.
Sasol is not close to me and BP slightly off route for me... but if I do pass will try'em:thumbs:

I have worse fuel consumption with this shell bs.. power still feels the same but am 70-100km under my usual avg of 720 at 3/4 for my weekly commute.. so no thank back to Engen/Sasol

I went from Engen to Caltex and also tried Shell and I get 100km less on avarage per tank. I also noticed that my consumtion when I got the Car was on 6.2km/L and it went to 7.2km/L on caltex. Now I went for Sasol and it is coming down Im at 6.5Km/L currently and it tends to go to 6.4km/l recently now and then. and it seems to me that the car is more responsive and more quiet when its cold. Its a timely process for I ride the tank as empty as possible and then fill it up with one brand.

My Car seems to disaprove of Shell and Caltex this is down at the coast

So far it seems to me Sasol and Engen is better for this is what the dealer used where I got my Car from.

As posted previously in this thread, CAR magazine has a properties comparison between the different Oil company diesel fuel, in this months issue.

I have found that my Navara was smoking 'excessively' and started filling at Sasol - Amazingly, the smoke was reduced vitually completely.

So I decided to try it out on my E39, and worked like a dream. So now, I only fuel up with Sasol
