Thanks Yuben:thumbs: thing is though, when I got her I said to myself that because of the mileage I do too and from work I would alternate cars every other week. But that's where my plan was flawed. When I drive the Jetta, even if its just for 1 day I find myself really missing the bm:rollsmile: it's so hard to resist not driving her daily:rollsmile: Obviously the 2 cars are worlds apart, but still she's so irresistible:inlove:

You buy a car to drive it and enjoy it. The more you drive it the better for the car in my opinion. It's better than having a 20 year old car in your garage with only 50000km. I'd rather have a 20 year old car with 400000km.Bavs108 said:

In my opinion the E46 is the last piece of lasting BM machinery. A friend of mine has an E90 with less than 100000km and the steering column just packed up, about R15000 to fix, you don't hear of problems like this on the E46. Chances are there will be more issues on the F30 as the quality of parts has just deteriorated over the years.
You have an excellent machine there, don't pickle it. Drive it to your hearts content.

Actually Im going to add this somewhat.
My recent lesson with the X3 has taught me that low km cars are just as dangerous if not more.
Essentially, and most of us have to admit this, including myself, that we drive according to the service interval indicator, which as we all know is way too much.
My moms car is a classic example, it a 2004 model, now has 60k on the clock, and I am sorry to say this, the car was not serviced nearly enough in her earlier life, Its only the last 3 years that I have made a point of servicing the car at least a minimum of once a year.
Same thing as to what happened to my X3. At 120 odd k on the clock, the motor went poof.
I would much rather have a high km car that has had regular service intervals as apposed to a low km car thats only been serviced at dealer indicated service levels.

I do intend driving her:rollsmile: I love this car more and more everyday:inlove: A few guys have told me that at that mileage the motor hasn't even opened up yet. Always makes me feel better when I hear things like that:rollsmile:
Ironically as a daily drive she's more economical than my Jetta. I save about a tank of fuel a month using the bm if I drive her conservatively:rollsmile: And other than normal wear and tear items the only things I replaced were the expansion tank a few months back and 1 ignition coil last weekend. Hasn't used a drop of oil or water since her last service and due for her next service in about a months time. So far so good:smile:
