Servicing Costs

Not sure if there's already a thread regarding service costs (I couldn't find a decent one).

At least now we can get a feel for what we should be charged for parts and services and if we're being ripped off.

Ok. To the point.

I just serviced my 2005 118i at an RMI approved workshop (due to warranty requirements)

The costs where as follows:

- 135.80 Air Filter
- 112.00 Oil Filter
- 700 Plugs
- 310.80 Pollen Filter
- 240 Oil
- 40 Consumables
- 552.30 F/B pads

- 450 Labour for the service
- 300 Labour for the F/B pads

They also resealed my tappet cover at no cost.

Total cost R2847, with VAT, a grand total of R3245.:argh::bangdesk:

NOTE: I also recently serviced our 320i E90, that included F/B pads as well and the total was somewhere around R2600 (I'll update this thread with those exact costs later):nonono:

Thats a bit to Much.
My RMI approved dealer asks me R150 to do pads.
Last full service on Gopher (e46 318 touring A/T) was R1600 all in. This included Liquid Molly Oil at my request.

Noted.

Anyway, I hope some of the guys with 1 series will be able to shed some light on this topic as well.

Just spoke to one of my mates. The same service on his 2005 RunX 160 came to the same price:roflol:

That's not too sad. Plugs you don't need to replace often. I don't see a brake wear sensor, which will add another R200 to the bottom line.
For me labour is free, because DIY is my hobby.

Thanks Guys.

It's my 1st service with this car. I was just surprized that these guys costed a little more than the E90 (320i) which was serviced at BOSCH!!

In the interest of the BMW fanatics community, if anybody would like to add to this thread it with their latest part/ service prices it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure lots of guys would like to know if they're getting ripped off or where they can get parts at better prices as well as excellent customer service!
