hi guys.

My car going in for its 100k service soon , i have a few things ive bought for the car and wanting bmw(Forsdicks) to fit them.

1.Do you think they will charge the earth to fit my new brake upgrade kit?
2. Replace the std filter with a K&N filter?

car is out of m/plan.

Thanks

Not sure. Ask them for a quote before they embark on the work. The filter you can install yourself...relatively easy.

Dealer pricing are competitive...but wait for the quote.

I would not take my push-style lawnmower to them, not after the bad service I got from them last year! :bangdesk:

Just my 2c...

If they are doing a service they will be charging you for a filter. Give them the K&N and tell them to put that in instead. Brake change is a relatively big job so the fact that BMWs labour rate is almost twice most specialists I would say you are going to get rooted at the dealers. As the car is out of motorplan they can fit what you want.

Great advice, let them drop your filter in instead, and take the brake kit somewhere else to be done.

If its Forsdicks tygervalley. It's hit and miss as to the type of service you're going to receive. Sometimes I get good help and other times the device is very disappointing

I agree with taking the brake kit to a specialist to fit, the dealers labour prices are generally alot more, however wait fo the quote and judge from there... the filter shouldnt be a problem.

BMW & MINI SPECIALIST Colin & Adele opened a motor workshop called Garage 808. Address: 16 Boulevard Park Way, Unit 4 Boulevard Park, Bellville. Tel: 021 820 3319.

Directions: Take Exit 20 off N1 into Mike Pienaar Drive. You'll pass Karl Bremer Hospital on your right. Go down to Voortrekker Road and cross it. Keep going straight, past the Shell Garage on the left. The road makes a turn to the left after the Shell. Keep going straight until you reach the last complex. The building on the left has a big number 16 on it. Drive in through the gates and we are the last workshop on the right hand side, Unit 4.

Sorry J, its next to Boston almost across from PowerFlow

@Chris , thanks buddy I found them yesterday, took car there, they friendly and very helpful, but I decided to just go to bmw at tygervalley forsdicks and let them service etc

They (Forsdick TV) gave me a quote yday with parts and labour and labour to install my parts at R3013.

I think that's a pretty decent price as just about everything is replaced , there is a massive long list, car going in on thursday:thumbs:
