We bid the Touring Farewell | Sad Day

Today is a sad day for the Touring.

This morning the car was unfortunately involved in an accident, the lady driver (an employee of Nick's) didnt notice a stop street and collided with a Container Truck at speed.

Thankfully the truck driver swerved at the last minute, but the car did its duty and she, much to our happiness is alright.

A wonderful car, almost perfect but will not be forgotten.

Yeah, a facelift E39 525i as we need a replacement asap. :nonono:

One of the BBS's is missing a bit of its lip but we have confirmed that can be fixed. So wheels etc and even the freshly painted interior trim which hasnt been fitted can be transferred.

The Touring did its job admirably... And thankfully my decision to buy slightly aging big beemers as run abouts was vindicated. If I had chosen a small shit box for the same money this would have ended WAY worse. So yes we will grab another touring and go from there.

I always cringe at the thought that these things can happen to anyone at anytime...I mean just one page back the car is an absolute gem and now reduced to another piece of used metal...so you cant always prevent it but you can chose to drive a car that can safe you.
