So after the failure of the autoglym product above, it became increasingly harder to maintain the wheels. On this car.
On all my wheels on the 5er I did the normal clean, clay, wax and it worked well. I only used iron decontaminate remover when it was time to redo the process.
On the X1, I would have to spend almost an hour just washing wheels and arches, every wash.....
It got to the point where the normal wash could not remove the dirt, plus the amount of brake dust is insane. I would wash both cars on the same day, I drive almost double what the wife does and my wheels look 10 times better.
So I decided to get them off, clean, clay, wax hoping it helps.

Did a normal wash using autoglym custom wheel cleaner and various brushes, twice to make sure that as much as could be washed out...,was.
At first glance it looks good, but closer inspection shows what irritates the crap out of me. The brake dust is so thick that it seems to almost eat the clear coat. While I do believe that part of the problem is the refurbishment of the wheels done when I purchased, there's still the issue if brake dust. While cleaning I inspected the brake pads on the front axle. I was surprised to find Jurid in there, the last pad change was done by the dealer under plan so I assume it's an OEM brand, but I am considering changing them.
