Part of having these thread, is helping me keep a timeline of the work done on my cars. Whenever I need to check anything that was done, its much easier to find it here.

While cleaning the wheels, the time consuming part was to clean the wheel arches. I am just the type of person that always notices a very clean car.., and filthy wheel arches, so I prefer to try and keep them clean. You will notice that the plastics are not as dirty as i try to clean them as much as possible whenever I can while doing the routine weekly wash.

Yes, its not perfect, but this isn't a show car either. I dont like to use any oily product after cleaning after. I only applied dressing to the plastics by hand.

View through the wheel after everything was done, I did not apply any dressing to the tyre as i wanted to the wheel protectant as much time to cure.

Thanks Kidhar, for me there's much more appreciation for the end result knowing the effort.

Doesn't reduce the aches and pains though...

Thank you, I have been doing this since the early 2000s, only difference is the tools and products which make it way more effective now.

Lurvly, exactly the spec I was looking for, still deciding.

Many happy miles.
Depending on how much of baby stuff you carry around.., it might be a tad small. but for me , with 2 kids, 2.5 and 7, its perfect as we dont have to carry the big bulky stuff anymore

And the final verdict on the wheel protector....

After 500km where it would normally be a good couple shades darker on the rear wheels....

Yep, it still hasnt been washed or rinsed..., If it last a few months to a year, i would be pleased and would invest in the autoglym or similar product again definitely.

Thanks bud, In all honesty, I am loving the way the car drives currently and until I am done with the E60, as it seems to want more attention  these days, I will keep it stock.

I love the fact that I dont have to worry about boost leaks, seals or anything else...

A further update on the autoglym product, as I would wash the vehicle, I noticed a marked difference in the products effect after using a wash and wax car wash.

I was really disappointed that the effect was reduced to almost nothing after using the wash and wax on the car and as one would expect, it fell into the wheels.

It could also be that the product just didn't last long and it coincided with me using a wash and wax over my normal car chem car wash.

I will chat to crazydetailer to see if there was probably someway I could have avoided it.

I gave the wheels another light spray since I still had some in the can.

Some old pics for clicks.
