I planned to tackle my Sapphire Black metallic F30 320d (17 months old) this weekend and I am pleased with the outcome, it's not a professional job as I am not a professional car detailer, nonetheless I gave it a try.. Pravin your products rock!
Some of the stuff at my disposal:
New Foam lance:
My approach was as follows:
1) Foam with Karcher Foam lance, using 40% Karcher Ultra foam cleaner, 40% Sonax Gloss Shampoo and 20% boiling water.
2) Took a clean bucket of water and a wash mit to tackle the more stubborn stuff on the sideskirts, etc.
3) Rinsed off with Karcher high pressure washer (cold)
4) Drip dry until almost dry then took my CrazyDetailer ultra soft buffing cloth and dried the car off.
5) Used an AutoGlym applicator for the Menzerna SF4000 to tackle a small piece of the paintwork at a time and buffing with my new most loved cloth
6) Cleaned leather with just hot water and a microfiber cloth
7) Cleaned stubborn plastics with 50% vinegar and 50% boiling water mix - works like a charm I tell you!
8) Vacuumed carpets with Karcher dry vac and cleaned carpets using my new SmartCarpet cleaner + carpet brush
9) Used a microfiber cloth to give the leather some love with Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather
10) Used a microfiber cloth for the Meguiar's Endurance Tyre gel
11) Used luke warm water with a damp microfiber cloth to clean engine bay of visible dirt
My approach is to have a cloth for each type of application, never re-use on another cleaning job and then throw them all in the washing machine to get them clean again.
The car was not clayed yet as I need way more time to do that, we shall see soon!
Some results and I finally got that glass look I wanted! :joy:
(My phone made some artifacts on the bonnet pics, not all of those are stone chips :fencelook
Tried to get some of the flakes by focusing camera on my keys..
Lastly something I though my fellow fanatics would appreciate:
Thanks for reading and I value any feedback.
