RPM on a 2001 320i

Is it normal for the RPM to hang a little when i rev. past 5000 RPM. It is slow to come down. Not slow that you can't drive it, but slow if comparred to other cars. The reason why i ask, is that the car seems to be a bit low on power below 4500 RPM. From 5000 RPM and up it is very good.

not to sure how fast the revs are supposed to fall.
In terms of the power output that seems normal as all the power in a NA is usually at the top end.

Its normal, I also questioned this when I first got my 320i. I think its got to do with teh size of the flywheel

If I blip the revs up, its almost like it hangs there for a split second and then starts to drop, and not quickly either, kind of floats down again :)

The thing is i like to do fast gear shifts. With this now you need to wait or else it is not a very smooth shift.
