that was a lot of time and money spent for it to end up like that lol

Yip. That’s what happens when u take it to the wrong place to get a conversion done.

So far money from the suspension is going to the radiator. Sump. And some custom parts for my 1 series

Wait what, sounds like someone stole your stuff?

Just to be clear that was an assumption, in case anyone wonders :tease:

So this is what happened.

So like a dumbass I paid in full for the conversion to take place nearly 2 years ago.

So my car got moved from new workshop to the old workshop and then to a carport. So after nearly 2 years with minimal progress I decided to pull the plug and put the money into my 1 series. So I agreed to move my car to the yard. There was a guy interested in my suspension so I told him when it moves to the yard we can take the parts off. Was suppose to happen end of the month. Next thing I get a call from the guy wanting to buy my stuff saying my car has been sitting in that yard for like 3 weeks. I was so pissed I even told the mechanic he could pay me off in installments for the refund he owes me but he just decided to send the my car to the yard without him telling me and I am very very lucky that Parts were not stolen. However my extended wheel studs and nuts went missing which I suspect were used on another customers car. So I went and stripped my Parts before they get stollen. All the suspension. Motor and gearbox has been removed

Anyways I am upset on the way I was treated as a client with constant bullshit promises. And I did loose out big time but at least some of those funds can go to my 1 series

Luckily you could salvage the parts for a good profit (I hope) and put it towards more exciting projects

That was my plan as eventually my parts would have gotten stollen and this way I can recover some funds. All I can say is there is a lot of shitty ppl out there so be careful where you take your business.

Dropped off some of my 1 series parts to get modified yesterday. I will inspect them and I will install them.

Hey guys

Still haven’t received my money from this mechanic. He owes me like 20k

If anyone can help me out or give advise on this topic. That would be helpful. He says he can’t pay me back as business is bad. But I don’t care. I just want my money

Thanks

Great thread !! Keep it up Bro. I don't think there's a cdv. Mostly e46 and M52 of the e36 have them.

I see you want to go with the M54 block. I'm keen on knowing why you removing the cast iron m50. Weight issue??

Haha always liked the sound of 2JZ or a nice V8. If I had the money I would have gone 2JZ

But since the car has been parted out as I trusted a workshop to do a conversion for me and it ended up standing :rage:

I have tried this, the guy I think just doesnt want to pay he has given me so many promises just need some advise on how to get my money back. Its a shit one. Tried getting him to do some work on my 1er V8 and same story and found some scary shit that he did. So honestly I decided just part out the car and call it a day. And put the money towards my other car and a holiday

If anyone can help me please contact me

Thanks

Had the same issue with a builder who did some renovations to my and my business partners houses at the same time. He eventually told us that he cannot work on my house anymore, after paying R 250k and he worked on my partners house for an entire year and is still not 100%.

We laid claim to his house and he has to pay me X amount each month for the funds paid to him that he used and didn't complete the work. It's not a problem getting the money back as I can sell his house to recoup if he doesn't pay, it's dealing with all the bullsh!t to get to that point and having half a house and upset wife that get's to me.

Sad that we do business with people who mostly complain that they need work and things are so bad yet they screw people every chance they get. Then they wonder why things don't work out for them.

My 2c on this, your best bet would be to either visit the small claims court (cheap but time heavy) or get some lawyers involved (costly but more likely to be solved quicker)..

I would suggest you get a lawyer friend/family member to draft an 'official' notice on a company letterhead that states you are in the process of legal proceedings against him (make sure everything is documented) and he has xx months before this will be taken to court.. I usually find lighting a fire under someone's ass in this way helps you get taken seriously.. You may not get everything back but some is better than none.
