Okay and the second update...

We changed the sensor out as well but the light wont reset so it looks like it wants front pads now too... So thats next up on the list

same issue on the 7'er last month, was just the quick release fitting wasn't making proper contact, bit of "electrical switch cleaner" sprayed into either end of the connector.........sorted !

Also had an issue with the front, the pads are still fat, discovered the wire had chaffed thru against the wheel

brake wear sensor works on a closed loop circuit = OK, break the circuit = warning light on

Yeah thinking the new sensor perhaps just isnt makng proper contact. Popping her into our AMO's hangar tomorrow to have a look. Front pads are fairly worn so its plausible that they've decided they want to be changed too... Tomorrow shall reveal all

So I've just gotten back to Howick after clocking up 4300kms to Jeffreys Bay and back with the 5er... Had an absolutely fantastic trip and I really couldn't ask for a better vehicle to do long distance with... 1300kms in a day with no flaws and sublime comfort :inlove:

Sadly the trip was not without incident and on Monday night 100kms from home, just before the Estcourt UltraCity I met with a delaminated truck tyre tread which has done some damage :blueCry::blueCry::blueCry:

Thankfully the damage only seems to be cosmetic and the car drove perfectly fine and got me home safely. Meeting with an insurance assessor this afternoon so I guess we'll take things from there and hopefully I'm not without a car for toooo long :fencelook:

I get sad every time I see these pics :blueCry:

Glad you safe at least. These bloody transport companies need to be more weary of the conditions of the trucks they send their drivers out with. I see these tyre treads all over the place lately.

.............

You forgot to mention your car ran out of motorplan this last weekend and that the heavy modding will now begin

Indeed. I shall have to post those pics too... But yes the car is now happily over the 100k km mark with right now exactly 101400km on the clock :inlove:
