Newbie to this tuning stuff but here's my RGM quote for my new BMW

DeCat R4800
Ecu remap R10800
Performance air filter R1120

A bit steep but I will pay my only issue, don't slaughter me I've asked every to no avail, but warranty and motor plan will it be voided and what for?

Hi Bud, R4800 is very steep for a DeCat! go to Exhaust Man in honeydew (just up the road from RGM) he charges R450 per Cat and they know exactly what they are doing!

Sclass to answer your question the M50 bolts on to the head and the fuel rail fits, but im not sure if you need to mod it to for the throttle body and plumbing...

one of the guys who have done this should know...

@Tobofey, warranty and motorplan?

im pretty sure they will void MP for those mods if they find them...

with my car they left the cat on, just hollowed it out! cant tell the difference!

if they take the exhaust off they can easily see where it was welded back together... im not saying it will happen, but if it does you wont be happy...

Hate to say it but a new 1M...

nice!:bravo: i wouldnt have a clue where the cat/s are on that car. i was lucky cause the cat on the 330d comes directly off the turbo so its just a clip to release and it sits high up in the engine so its not easy to dee the welds etc. works like a bomb with it out though! did a dyno today and im getting 171kw and 611nm on the wheels.

if its the 1M then i would hold off on mods for a bit... let others do mods 1st then see what works well for the car... i was wondering why rgm quoted you 10k for a tune...

they should pay you to bring the car in  because then they will be the 1st to tune one in SA

i dont know what car you had before, but i would rather get a feel for the car before going to town on it... that way its less lightly to go ploughing threw some road side furniture...

nothing will ever be quick enough lol

but if you dont respect this car it will definitely show you whos boss...

They have offered me a subsidy for developing the car, but if it's free I ain't taking it. Haven't actually opened the taps still running her in.

lol run it for 6 months then decide if you still want to mod it... i think the threat of loosing MP will be enough to make it not worth while on a car like this... and if you look at how temperamental the *35i are you definitely dont want to be picking up the tab when there will be M parts prices attached...

The I would assume that you can feel it kick in twice seeing as the single vanos motors make two change through the rev range.
