All you guys telling me i need to work out actual economy by the actual litres and kilometers.
I tested it via the OBC. Because 99% of the guys on here work on their OBC to work and back etc. Thats the standard. If i had to go and work it out, which i will later today when i find the slips, the rest that are conparing their cars will have to as well. Its just easier comparing what the car says to another even though it might be out a little. Its just a base line. Also on the way up i was using 50ppm because i could not find 10ppm

The obc can be changed to calculate differently, I would not trust the values on the same model with the same engine.

A quote from e90post regarding the hidden menu in our cars
*** WARNING ***
Do not mess with menu 20.x or at least remember what 20.0 was showing originally
*** /WARNING ***
The 20.0 item in the hidden menu shows a value which I thought originally to be 1000 by default. I (unknowingly) messed with mine when playing with the menu the first time and didn' notice right away. However, the fuel consumption figures went up and I could not understand why. In the end I put it on the cold weather and forgot about it.
Several months later I got very bored waiting for someone in the car and I played again with the menu just to find out that this particular value is changeable using 20.1, 20.2 and 20.3
Since I do not know the original value I set it to 1000 (which might be the 1:1 correction ratio). Yes, I did try to calibrate it (odo+liters+math+whatnot) but after all the trouble I decided that I do not care that much and left it at 1000.
The interesting thing is that it does not seem to accurately report the fuel consumption with this setting, which makes me suspect the original value is _different_ for each car and is calibrated somehow at the factory.
You probably did not mess with yours and that's why it's so accurate.
Would you be so kind to look at your 20.0 entry and see what's the value? (i.e. if you're curious too and confident enough to enter that menu without changing the value).
