That is impressive mate. I have never seen such in my life.
Yea its good. I must not complain. I have to say i was doing 100km/h for the last 200km because there is absolutely no lights on the n2 south. At 120kmh it stayed at 3.6/3.7

The 320d is something special. The lowest I got while driving at 120km/h was 5.0l/100km (from JHB to Witbank) and that was with a 320i F30 (MPerf). I guess one should look ino getting a diesel beemer because I would like to go on a lot of road trips

Excellent, I remember when the f30's were almost launching the
Salespeople were saying 2.8 l / 100 km .

Those 320d's are very efficient, I remember the 335i I had
Gave me 6 or 6.8 going down to Dbn , coming up was A bit more.
I was def at 100km/hr cruise control most of the time.

You sir deserve a Bells, I have never had that much discipline with a 335i hehe.

Nice figures. Well done! Good discipline too.

I generally return between 5.5-6l/100 in my 530d which I'm quite pleased with :cthulhu:

Wow ,you have a lot of patience. This fuel consumption game drives me mad on long distances

But well done, that consumption is amazing especially for a car of that size

Hi OP, forgot to ask. Thank you for the post on the fuel consumption down to dbn. Would you give us more info on the luggage part, like did only you go with maybe 1/4 boot full or was there 4 people in the car fully loaded? This will assist in actual real evaluation of the consumption

No my boot was full full.

And i had some blankets and coolerbox on the back seat. Its only me and my girlfriend driving though. So the boot was full and some stuff on the back seat. I have to say. It has a HUGE boot. We packed 2 large bags. 2 duffel bags and 2 back packs as well as a desk fan and 2 pillows and a few extra bits and pieces and it was alot of stuff.

Then that fuel consumption is AWESOME :praise:, but do post the consumption back also so we can see a full trip. dont reset the gauge. Just leave it as is for a real world figure.

But in all honesty I have to take my hat off for you for the discipline hey, cause it shows in this fuel consumption. But good for future review, thank you for this OP. :ty:

The discipline came easy . The road was dark and foggy so driving over 100 was impossible. But before harrismith seeing all the audi and merc drivers pass me was sooooooo tempting grrrrr lol. But all worth it. At that consumption the car reckons ile get 1500km out of the tank.

Ive tried this trip with a F30 320d Spack

economy run lasted about an hour into the trip where I decided to enjoy the car over trying to get great consumption...averaged a speed of 140kms/per hour occasionally touching 160kms...
with figures of 5.4 l/100 to Durbs and 6.2 return to JHB.

Being a diesel the consumption is rather great as it is. So it was a small sacrifice enjoying the Car and journey than great consumption for me.

Yea i wanted to do that. But the speed traps are awful. There's alot of them and i can't take chances.

:clapper: I'm keen to see the consumption on the way up. I'm pretty sure the combined consumption will be around my estimate of 4l/100km.

You have some serious discipline man!

Nice to see somebody else pushing the limits. The 3 series is light but it's actually all about BMW's 2.0 litre diesel motor.
I have the modular motor in my 2016 X1 2.0d S drive (front wheel drive) and below the consumption from Jhb to Vereeniging.

The unfortunate thing about fuel consumption is that your figure is only as good as the car ahead of you allows and if you have a nervous driver ahead who keeps on braking these figures fly out the window.
