Ride height after changing shocks

Hi Guys

I recently had my front shocks replaced under MP on my 2011 E90 320d msport LCI.

I have noticed that now the left front is about 8-10mm higher as well as is being generally higher than before ... ??? Its going next week for them to check it out.

Has anyone had this sort of problem before ?

Feedback/Advise will be appreciated.

Strange

generally shocks don't determine ride height, the springs determine the ride height, the shocks are "along for the ride" to dampen out the road bumps.

Possibly the re-assembly of the entire strut assembly and mountings, after replacing the shocks, is where the problem lies
or
the shocks are so stiff, that they are causing the springs to be stretched.....not sure if this is possible though

I had this issue on my E46 , i replaced my original after 200 000kms with blistines and the car sat higher , higher then when it was when the car was new .

It hasn't caused any problems , But if one side is higher then the other then it needs to be checked out . Maybe one side has a weak spring?

My thoughts exactly ... I recon its an installation problem ...

All RHD BMWs are slightly lower (+/-5mm) on the driver's side. And the difference becomes more with age. You just never noticed it before

I too had this issue when dampers were replaced under m/plan.
All was within spec when checked at the dealer.

Perhaps the worn dampers were riding lower than spec, and now it is seemingly higher than spec.

I had the same thoughts recently when i changed my shocks under MP. Car looked higher than normal.

Gave it a few days and I don't noticed it anymore.
