They have established an "elite" client base, and have been around for years which speaks for itself. Personally, I only wouldnt take my car there because I know I can get the same for a better price elsewhere.

But as dvst8 says..others have come and gone..RGM is going strong and have cars coming out that shop everyday.

We live in South Africa..there are a fuckload of people with a lot of money who are willing to pay double, triple and even quadruple for decent service, and they would do this knowingly and with a smile. IMO RGM knows that

I had a long reply but then decided against posting it.

Rather let the experts discuss. While doing so, the RGM workshop is busy, cars are churning out and guess what ? The may not be the fastest, they are however still fast and reliable.

We were speaking to Steve in december about this, we came to the conclusion, you want cheap, sure there are cheap options out there, you want the experience and R&D that go into the RGM builds, there is a price and people are still paying. Companies have come and gone and RGM are still going strong.

Finally, someone who gets it:praise:

Speak to some of the 4.0 V6 RGM Super Charged Hilux Owners. Ask them how many times the head gasket has gone. :fencelook:
I know of at least 3.

I can't believe some folks think RGM is value for money in any sense of the term. :roflol:

I can understand those with the cash to throw around wanting the best product no matter the cost, but the RGM builds are notorious for 3 things (based on what I've seen and read over the years):
1) Inflated costs
2) Lack of real world results
3) Engine failures

So how exactly is going with RGM a good idea if you're paying much more than anywhere else, you're not getting optimal performance and reliability isn't top notch? :nonono:

Gents in reality RGM are way too expensive and a rip-off! Just wanted to get that out the way before I start! And for everyone that has said their cars are fast and reliable, maybe 50% of them are, but I have been told numerous times by customers of RGM who I know, about problems and engine failures, and work not being done properly to their so called "high standards"!

I mean just search this forum of ours and you'll see that people who have had experience with them and people who actually know a thing or 2 about cars will also tell you they are way too expensive!

But here's the thing, why did those people and why do other people go their in the first place? It's a little thing called marketing, this is where RGM have actually done something right! Advertising, being present at events, they've also got the accreditation from this place and that place, which gives their customers a warm feeling when they first go there, lots of articles and pictures on the walls of their success stories also makes an impression, and we all know, first impressions count.

As some have pointed out, they can charge whatever they like if they feel that is what their "work and expertise" is worth, and the problem is that a lot of people will go there and pay this premium due to their marketing.

But now here's the next thing, here on the forum, we all want to help each other and try and prevent our fellow members of being robbed of their money. This is the reason why guys are pointing out that RGM is expensive and you can get the same work done to the same standards and quality if not better at other places, helping them to see past the brilliant marketing and also save them a lot money!

Well put Gar-3M.One other thing that bothers me about RGM,they are always quick to throw the 1000 HP figures out there(Marketing) but somehow fail to prove their claims. The Quarter mile times I have seen certainly don't match their power figures.I hope they put this 1000hp Beast through its Paces and hopefully it won't just end up a Dyno Queen or Marketing Tool.
B.T.W is it just me or do their Widebody kits look over the Top?The Arches(especially the rear) should be a bit more subtle.I don't mean to step on anybodies Toes but that's just my observation.

Well said, have heard the same stories from some 350Z clients.

Just one suggestion, if the same type of work can be done somewhere else for better quality and price is there a thread where peoeple actually endorse these companies as it would be a lot of help for the rest of us?
