Thx Ashman. I have my moments...hehe

Now you can imagine how Freerider and I behaved at the Frankfurt show. We wanted to see and touch everything even lying under cars to see exhaust configurations...boyz and their toyz...

Well done Twinz for the good review-and Mo for great pics.
IMO with what I've seen people take while to adjust to change.

Having said that I like new 1 series more than the old one.

Twinz you're a lucky man to get your hands on the new toys.

:ty: This made for good reading.

I'm just thinking now, my E30 318i produced 160nm when it was new. This 1.6L Turbo car produces almost 100 more.

250NM is a good amount in a daily car. Add that with the fact that there's no lag in this car, it can only be a win win. :thumb:

Great write up + pix.

Nic, I like your reasoning on this.

I wonder if we will ever see a 130 (5 door) turbo-charged version in this new guise...it will be a cracker :inlove:.....or is it left to the 135 coupe versions...

I agree with that.

I would be more than happy with a small daily drive 1.6L with that amount of power.. My 1.9L is pushing 87Kw & 157Nm...

Hi Twinz, as far as I know the 180kW 350Nm 2.0l turbo of the Z4 S-Drive28i, X3 X-Drive28i and 528i will be used across the line-up, replacing the 3.0 N/A 6cyl

Thx Divinci

I see the pricing for used 1 series (E87) is still stable. I was expecting it to tumble. These cars hold their value well. Next year it may change once the new ONE is readily available.

Well it might take until the looks of the new 1 is more widely accepted to the old 1 to start loosing its value, perfect time then to get a nice 130i

I was quite surprised to see what BMW offered me on trade-in for my E87 ... I thought I would get less

Nice review but why buy a small hatch when you could get a far cheaper E90 with a few km on the clock and balance MP for far less. R350k for a 118i albeit with decent power and torque is insane...
