That cover is for the plate on boot lit right? Don't think I've ever noticed a special cover of sorts. Will take a closer look now to see if mine is still 100%.

Is the angle iron for the cover of the hole on top of the cement or recessed to allow the cover to be level with the cement around it ?

The 540i M does not have this piece , no screw holes etc .. It looks as if it sits around the rear number plate lights .

That is angle iron, awaiting the floor screed, then its level and I need to weld a grid for the hole.

Correct that piece sits behind the number plate lights, firt time I have seen it, has a BMW number on, but can not find it anywhere.......

Its amazing stripping the one car and learning as I go along

easy done, took one out last weekend, and used the bits and pieces to re-key a boot lock for Ant, the whole handle needs to be removed, taken out completely, then you can strip down, and remove barrel, plan around 2-3 hours for this. Have you got a new barrel?

can I get you a barrel? Will you be able to re-key it? Or do you need the whole door handle thing......? Can get you a handle with barrel, when next at the scrap yard, have plenty!

Have a complete set, with ignition and doors and boot for sale maybe.......

Making great progress. :thumb:

Just a thought though... every time you drop something in the garage it's gonna end up in the pit if Murphy has his way. :)
