REPOST: What fuel do you use?

Hi guys

I know this is a repost, please bare with me.

I usually insist on Shell 95 V Power. Since I've owned the car, I've never put 93 in it. If I can't get Shell, I use SASOL 95 - it works just as well if not better than the Shell fuel.

Now with the afore mentioned fuels, my consumption is between 9.8 and 9.2 litres per 100km. This figure includes traffic, stop and go, freeway driving and the occasional spirited run.

Two days ago, I was running really low and I had to use Engen. My consumption was over 10 litres per 100km. I was driving mostly on the freeway at 120, no passengers or luggage or anything like that.

What fuel do you guys use?
How does your car (performance & consumption) react to different fuels?

BP or Sasol 95

I find that I get slightly better consumption out of the BP fuel

I've tested a few fuels on my daily (Opel Corsa 1.4i UTE Club (just the word "club" gives it 8.64359821501KW extra:rollsmile

I found that BP and Sasol got used up the quickest with decent performance. Engen lasted a bit longer and had about the same performance but Shell got me at least 20km's more range and great performance.

On my BM I have only used Shell V Power 95, Engen and BP. Results were similar, with BP being better then Engen but less mileage.

SO, SHELL FTW. Get about 10-15km's more and the car always feels good.

When I first got my car, I was using BP and didn't think much of it. One day, I had no choice but to use Engen. Car felt a lot more alive, and consumption was about the same.

Engen has given me the best results so far.

sasol is by far the best for my car as far as performance goes. bp is by a long long way the worst.

sasol i never ever get limp mode. bp i always get limp mode.

as for economy the 135i guzzles whatever petrol i give it to drink. 135i and economy do not go together.

Been using Engen since late last year and my car seems happy with it, consumption is also pretty stable. Same with my Wife's car.

Bakkie only eats Sasol 50ppm!! :thumbs:

Normally use Engen 95 and get around 11.5-11.9l per 100km.

have now used Shell for over 300km and am sitting with 13.3l per 100km... Although, for some reason the shell makes me want to drive harder, its still the highest I've seen my car in a while.

hmmmm. Not sure what to make of it.

Personal preference:

Shell, Engen or Sasol....think i'll pay more attention with shell and sasol.

Glad nobody brought up caltex....maybe a clean engine is good...for eating out off

Sasol 50ppm majority of the time.

Prior to the Diesel, i had the following order of preference:
BP
Caltex
Shell
Engen

Obviously 95 only.

I found that i got good mileage from Caltex, then BP. But with Shell, i got less mileage and great performance. I cannot remember filling Engen even though i would if i had to.

Can anyone please give me an indication of what would be recommended for my E90 320i?

Ive read around a bit now, and see that most use 95 for their cars, but is this also advisable for the 4 cylinder? Would it make a difference?

Ive been using 93 since I got the car, but have been wondering if I should switch. Maybe there wont be any performance increase, but if its healthier for the engine then why not!

used to put 95 in but now 93 and still getting same consumpution,10 to 12km per litre,work and back

I have not been able to note any difference in power or consumption when putting in diesel. Just because of convenience / price I mostly use sasol, total and engen.
