Replacement of Clutch on Motorplan

Hi there,

Has anyone had to replace there clutch on a manual 330i anytime, whilst still on motorplan? The previous owner sadly never looked after his clutch. So just wondering if BMW does find that it was due to the previous owner aggressive driving style which has now cause the "possible replacement" of a clutch, would they still replace, or would this be for my expense? :mmm::mmm::mmm::mmm::mmm:

Nope they will replace the clutch, they don't really go into such investigation. But they may take up to two days to replace the clutch on the car.

That would be great, just got a bit concerned when the service advisor mentioned that they will need to take pics and send of the BMW for approval. Hence got a bit concerned as I have only had the car for about a week now. Also what adds to the stress is that my previous experience with BMW was not pleasant. So will just hope for the best I suppose...

you wont have to worry - if you only had a short time especially - they should have done their job when the Motorplan was transferred to you, they supposed to do a full check on the car before you get it.

I assumed that would have been done, sadly not :cursin: :cursin:
A BMW dealership in William Nicol said it was done, but how does one explain a simple item like the hooter not functioning.
Definitely not taking my car back to them, just wondering what the impacts might be taking the car to another dealership to address faults which clearly should have been addressed by the "reputable dealer in William Nicol" as part of the quality check. I called them yesterday and the motorplan has been transferred :dunno:

they all say that. all the dealer will do it, some are just assholes, but they all under obligation to do any motorplan issues.
Point out all the other things that are wrong when they do the clutch.

Before you take delivery of the car there is a check point sheet that must be completed by BMW before the car is handed to you. Go to the dealership and ask them for the completed check point sheet. Dont call them for it as some of them are shady and may complete and back date one before sending it to you.

Yepp they will take a pic of the clutch and send it to Germany first takes a day to approve and one more day to fit.

Dont stress you wont have any issues.

Well, had the car booked in to have the funny noise checked on the gearbox. Turns out its the reverse idler which is making the noise on the gearbox when the car idles in neutral and the clutch is not engaged. Has anyone else experienced this before or is this service advisor just pulling a fast one on me. He says its common on the 330's. Kinda find that hard to believe.
