Remote Start, Yes or No?

It is a bad idea to let a cold car sit and idle. The oil takes longer to warm up and when cold the fuel to air mixture is richer. Best is always to start driving as soon as possible and keep the rpm low until engine oil reaches 80 degrees C. Also don’t use full throttle during warm up.

Most people know this, but that is the reason remote start would be an absolute waste on my cars.

Agree, can’t think of a single scenario this would make any sense to get even for free.

Maybe one, your car is parked at your hojiday home and it requires a start to keep the battery going but then as AudiDriver mentions, the downside is leaving a cold car to idle.

Remote start is for Canadians and Americans in snow country who are too lazy to go out in the cold to start the car to warm it up on the inside before driving to work.

Real men don't need no stinking cold start.

This will use more battery than just leaving it without starting.

Can't really comprehend why anyone would want this as a feature. So, it's a no from me.
