RECOMMENDED BMW MECHANICS / WORKSHOPS IN DURBAN

The Gauteng and Cape Town BMW owners seem to be fortunate enough to have a few choices when it comes to BMW mechanics / workshops apart from the dealerships.

I have not noticed any of the forum users mentioning any Durban workshops / mechanics. Is this because there aren't any worth mentioning? Through word of mouth I have heard of the following workshops (in no particular order) and wanted to know if any of the other Durban forum users had any dealings with these workshops and if so what they were:-

*) Bimmerworks

*) Glazier Tech

*) Old Dutch Racing

*) Chip Logic (based in Pietermaritzburg)

If you know of any others worth mentioning, please list them with your comments. Hopefully this will assist some of the Durban forum users in choosing a reliable workshop to work on our rides or stay clear of those that have bad reps.

Hi,

I use Glazier Tech for my E36M3. When i was in CTN - i used to take to Zeemax. Checked around DBN before taking my car - i test out the mechs and their knowledge (though my knowledge is limited) - by using info from net. Mohammed at Glazier used to work at Supertech BMW and Supertech still sends vehicles to him when their workshop is full. He is always available to help - excellent customer service and he knows what he is talking about. I would strongly recommend him. Glazier is the only place that i take my car to and the only place i trust - they do what is necessary only.

cheers and good luck

I recommend both these guys as i have taken my BMW to them and so has all my buddies and family.

Great guys, lots of knowledge and specialists in BMW's.

Wouldn't recommend beemer works...the owner knows what his doing, can't say the same for the people working for him.
Would gladly recommend Glazier, Mohammed doesn't bullshit you about anything when you take your car to him. Repairs what needs to be repaired and advises you on what else you need to repair at a later stage that isn't critical. I have called him at night when I had problems, always willing to assist.
I even take my wifes high performance Picanto to him, thats how much faith I have:thumbsup:

I use S.A Autotech Anand for my E36M3. Anand at S.A Autotech is very knowledgeable. He is always available to help - excellent customer service and he knows what he is talking about. I would strongly recommend him. S.A Autotech is the only place that i take my car to and the only place i trust - they do what is necessary only.
