Hey BMW fanatics. We finally have a "state of the art " BMW workshop in Durban. The new S.A Autotech in Springfield Park.
These guys are excellent. I deal with Imtiaz or Anand. Ýou won't go wrong using them. Äll my friends and family use them.

They are rip-offs :nonono:

i would back you up on that quote.:clapper:

How about you beg to differ

can the mods do an update of this thread of maybe making it a sticky as we go along(as in a list form of good or bad service-i know forum advertisers are prefered but doesn't mean they are good-are there any advertisers in durban anyway that do servicing tuning building work?)

since moving down to durban iv used 3 dealers that I'm not happy with so just to help the rest of us out

i see many people recommend glazier tech is this still the case
also chip logic , i don't know the durban staff at all but I'm presuming its the some of the jhb staff that moved with Obi many years ago?

regards

sorry if this post is unnecessary
my bad

Mohammed and his staff are brilliant, know BMW's like the back of his hand and used to deliver excellent service, things have changed over time though, being charged for parts that you later find out was never fitted and paying for parts that never needed changing is not a good thing, neither is he cheap too

so where does one go now

because at this rate ,specialist quotes are matching bmw dealer quotes and to me thats just stupid,id rather pay the dealer the same money then

lol...Normally you will need to apply for an extension on your bond to afford SA Autotech's rates

I have dealt with a shop called Veez Auto Works in Phoenix Industrial Park, the guy Don knows what he is doing and offers proper honest service and advice
I don't have their number but the workshop is in Kruger St, Phoenix Industrial Park

Took my bmw to SA Autotech because there was a noise coming from my diff
Anand said the diff has backlash i ask if it could be fixed he said it can, gave them to do the job,the noise was still there when i got the car back didnt think it would be that because it supposed to be fixed.Few months down the line took it to Glazier Tech for a service ask them to check for that same noise, when i got the car back Mo said the diff has backlash.will never ever take my car back to SA Autotech again.:RedNo:

well i did the service at sa autotech.
are they expensive...yes
but its easily payable after they corrected almost everything that procar stuffed up within the quote.....just.

im not overly joyed like i am with budler but they were cheaper than dealer and actually knew how to open the bonnet unlike me explaining to procar(that should of been the sign of fake "bmw specialist")

i am happy with returning there.

still don't get why ppl complain about price, its not exactly a city golf they working on,yes there are cheaper workshops but then is that cheaper care on your german machine??

and there workshop is filled with m cars

but the search will forever continue in durban but for now I'm a happy chappy

unless we move Gizmo down

Quick question , why did you not take the car back to anand when u realised that the problem was not sorted ?

that would be the right thing to do , not not doing anything and moan about it .:RedNo:

this is just to make people aware of what goes on whether they want to learn from my experience or not is up to them. whether i take my car back there or not has nothing to do with you.

I've used .SA Autotech. They were really good. They maybe expensive but it's because they have a good shop & they do good work.

Thanks guys for your reviews. I tried S A Autotech. Very professional and good service.

I have posted previously about me being interested in purchasing an E12. This car was parked at SA Autotech for a couple of months for the wiring to be sorted out. The owner was given the run around. Nothing was done until the owner made arrangements for the car to moved. He had to pay R750.00 to get the car moved with nothing be done to it.

Different stroke for different folks,

The lack of honest BMW workshops in Durban made me change brands. I had really been messed around , paying twice for the work to be carried out cos the first workshop didn't do it but charged for it.

After bringing it to their attention, it opened up a whole can of worms. :RedNo:

Seems like we really are low on options with regards to aftermarket mechs.

I heard some scary stories about Chiplogic too, SA Autotech has just gone downhill. Heard some good and some bad from Glaziertech
