yea he has great stuff, i found his channel through his M6 build, then been hooked ever since, he has loads of experience, and a never give up attitude.

Same here and I followed that M6 build and the drive and back to M fest. I also watched this M3 Video this weekend, that mileage is crazy, less than 2800km thats insane.... wonder how much stress the insurer gave the customer to settle claim if that was the case

Although far more knowledgable and thorough, I'd argue.
Mat Armstrong is meh for me personally. He's likeable and all, but he's kinda winging it a lot of the time and lacks attention to detail.

While watching last night, I also wondered whether someone on the forum or IRL knows anything about the specific car/incident.

how many would buy a car they know was pranked to this extent, however repaired properly?

Easy to also fling that level of cash at things (same with Tavarish as well in most of his vids the past few years). The levels of sponsorship even for spinoff channels is absolutely wild. Where you can have no day job, plus build a SEMA show car just based on your audience.

I was thinking about the reselling aspect yesterday. To me its more appealing to buy the car in the video than another repaired without any credible background.
Motorplan will most definitely be gone. At the right price its a good buy for someone looking to modify/tune the car.

I prefer guys like LegitStreetCars, HumbleMechanic & M539 Restorations in this 'segment'.

What i have learned from Mat is that if you have access to a lift and tools etc, lots of things can be done fairly easily.
Many of these car rebuild guys are not considering at all what it takes to repair these cars in terms of cost because its made for content, not for resale or cost-effectiveness.
This means that completely replacing everything new from a "Main dheela" throws the story of "uneconomical to repair" out the window.
If you watch some German/Ukraine and Lithuania channels, you can see full rebuilds with guys actually using jigs to straighten chassis, welding etc, which is far more detailed than rip everything off thats broken and replace with new.
I have at learned how these cars are put together and disassembled to gain an understanding of how much labour is required for what looks like a small fender bender versus water/storm damage.

M539, stay tuned and Vice grip garage are my staples, i like the content of legit street cars but his attempt at humour annoys me. Matt, tavarish, hoovies are simply just too fancy nowdays and boring.
