In order of the questions:
We will stay with the same bore primarily to make the rebuild cost efficient.
Pistons for that motor will cost in the region of +-R16 000 from the USA and then one needs to add another +-R8 000 for liners engineering.
As the motor will be used in a "family" vehicle performance is not the major quest so much as reliability.

We have supported Woolies for many years and their recent growth and brilliant financial results are a direct reflection of my wife's dedicated and frequent support. :tease:

Sleeves are here and will be machined during the week.

Waiting for the camshaft to return from Van Der Linde.
Should have everything by next Friday.
We will spend the weekend sorting out all the nuts and bolts and finish with the cleaning.

I need to get another engine stand so that we can mount the block.

I expect that following week Monday assembly will commence....stay tuned.

So I need to get the fuel rail and harness to you ASAP? Will maybe come there on Sunday if you aren't busy

It has been a while that the car has stood :(

Yeah it has, it's almost as if the car never has driven before.

Luckily with the engine build, the engine will be basically brand new, the gearbox has about 500km on it, so will be very reliable

Stopped at the engineers today as the block was being machined and I wanted to be present to verify what was being done.

From tomorrow we will start pulling in the parts as the critical part of the operation is now almost complete.

Very few engineering shops will undertake this procedure as it is laborious as well as fraught with unexpected outcomes.
