Rear Badge painting

Hi guys, i was thinking about painting my rear badge (320i letters) in black.
but for that, i have to remove them (which is not a problem) to paint them, and put them back on...
now my question is, how can i put them back exactly on the right place with the right spacing between letters?

Hey there bud,
Welcome to the forum, and judging from your posts, you want to know lots about your car.
There is a charity even happening next week Sunday, we would like for you to join us and meet the guys.
Also good so that you can see e differences in the various models.
This forum is like a family, we help each other out, and part of helping on this forum is giving back. That is why this charity event is taking place.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but would like to see you and the charity even next week.

Welcome again

Hi,
I would love to go to the Charity event next sunday,
but at the moment i dont have a valid South African drivers license yet :sorry:
I came from Portugal a few months ago, and until my ID book isn't ready, i cant apply for the translation of my Portuguese drivers license to convert it to SA one.
So i can't take the risk to drive to places where i might get pulled over, otherwise, they will arrest me lol.
As soon as i get my license, i will attend to all the events that are possible for me to go to
Until then, i have to "lay low" and miss out on these great events

I've plastidip'd mine and also have black ones. It's very simple just make sure you get to the corners.

Did you remove the badge from the car to plastidip it or how did you do it?:fencelook:

I put newspaper around the area with sticky tape and then just did like 4-6 coats making sure to get to the sides holding the canister sideways and also up and down to reach the top and bottom. Let it dry for a while though, on the badges let it dry for longer than with the grills so 30 mins.

I don't want to remove my badges because I'm worried I get the alignment off. Haha

But i'm sure it's hard to put newspaper and sticky tape in the tight spaces and curves isn't it?
dont you just peel it of the cars painting on those tough spots?

No its not hard. Just ,check the vids from Dipyourcar.com on youtube.
Leave enough Space to overspray, once dried completely, peel it off slowly and it would break off cleanly from the letters.
