Re-instating Motorplan

Mamba said:
Guys, BMW can not only see the maximum revs achieved but they can also see the total time the engine spend at this revs, maybe they based their cancellation on the fact that the car was "abused" for too long time period above the allowed limit?

Would be nice to hear more details on their story on their decision

when you did the motorplan transfer to your name in Sep 2010, why did they not pick up that issue then and cancel the motorplan then?

they have to reinstate it then, as there i proof they should have picked it up when do the quality check, thus they sold you a car knowingly it was over revved. Give them hell.

They usually don't do logs on the car during a change of ownership on MP however they do plug in ISIS to verify if the car has the latest OEM software as the case with N54/N55.

The change of ownership on MP is a general 60 odd point check and to update any recall actions. I am unaware of the total detail on this though....

ask them to supply the motorplan inspection report done when they transferred the motorplan to your name in september 2010.

I suggest you tackle BMWSA on this issue strongly, use the hellopeter.com site and ask them repeatedly how they can cancel a plan now, for something YOU were not responsible for, and how was the motorplan transfer done in 2010 yet this issue was not picked up then.

So either the previous owner returned it to stock just after 25500km and before you bought it.
And when BMW did the check at that time they did not do this FASTA check.
So it means that you had no knowledge about any s/w and over-reving so u should not be held liable. In their checklist is asks them if they suspect any modifications and I guess to read the file aswell, so that's their part, they did the check and was happy to sell it with plan.

On the other hand the car probably still has software on it which was never picked up by them and it also show's how "responsible" of a driver you are cos if they check from 28000km to 40000km there is no over-reving, so this states that u did not abuse your vehicle.

This is BMW's f up, the first dealer who do the transfer when u purchased it.

Also isn't the FASTA thing done on special request cos they tried to take my friends plan away after he got them to replace 5 diffs on his M5 and then they showed him speeds of 250km/h and everytime he drove there and said that although it's was stock that he abuses his car. But they never took his plan away in the end.

Who did you buy the car from , that dealer ( if so ) should have the info on the car from when you bought it .
If the car withstood 9000 revs thats good

this is a interesting topic.

is it in the fine print, that a car musnt be over reved or pushed past 120km/h?

if it is in the fine print, then i think that motor plan will be cancelled on 90% of fanatics cars.not that we abuse our cars.

i love to open mine now and then, but i dont abuse it.so does this mean that m/p can be cancelled?

Well, hope you get your motorplan re-instated - very dirty of them to have no problem transferring the motorplan on your name when this over-revving had taken place before you took ownership, and they want to penalise you! So if you look at it this way, they are in breach of contract with regards to motorplan - I would make a point about this to them!!

HI ALL . GOT SUM NEW INFO REGARDING THE MOTORPLAN .
I APPROACHED BMW WITH ALL THE INFO STATING THIS HAPPEND BEFORE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND EVEN THOUGH MOTORPLAN WAS TRANSFERED ON MY NAME AT A MILEAGE OF 29500KM . THIS OVEREVED INCIDENT TOOK PLACE AT 25820KM . THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE AS THE CAR WAS BOUGHT PRIVATELY AND NOT THRU A BMW DEALERSHIP. I HAVE TRIED TO REASON WITH BMW BUT NOW AM LEFT WITH NO CHOICE . IM HANDING ALL THE DOCS OVER TO THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT.

This is BS, bunch of cakes working there at Bm Sa. Ask for a copy of the quality check when u bought the car u will win ur case with that.

Dam, that's disappointing
Surely they are responsible for the content of the quality check?
There must have been a quality check when you bought the car?
That is totally unacceptable.
What does that have to do with it - having bought it privately I mean?
Good luck.
